MAINE!!

Well, Maine has been fun...and boring at times too. Saturday and Sunday were fun. We started our drive to Maine on Thurday. We stopped in NY for the night and then drove the rest of the way to Maine on Friday. We got here and then were tired to we went to bed. Then on Saturday we toured Bethel, which is the village where we are staying. Really we are staying in Sunday River, Newrly Maine. Bethel is the closest thing to civilization we have. lol. Its a SMALL town...errr. village. its actually called Bethel Village. Sunday we drove to Portland, the biggest city in Maine....it wasnt a very big city. lol. it was nice tho and there were people there. Then we went and saw some lighthouses and some beaches and trails and stuff. that was beautiful. We are driving to Rockland/Rockport tomorrow. That should be fun, its a lobsterfest. My mom says we are eating lobster for beakfast lunch and dinner and maybe desert too, but we'll see. :P Monday and today we didnt do to much. Today my family went to see Monster House at the gigantic theatre of Bethel. lol. Its the smallest theatre I've ever seen. it was nice tho. I miss VA so much. Vacationing is fun and the drive was way better than I could have ever imagined. Thanks so much for your prayers. I could really tell you guys were praying. So far we have had only one day night. the day was good just the night got bad. There was a a fight and alot of tension but it was mainly better in the morning, so continue in prayer for us because we are taking the drive back in one day and I dont know how that will go. I dont know if I can talk for 15 hours straight. lol. I talked the whole way to NY and that made the time go by faster and noone got sick of eachother. It was a blessing that I was tired and running off adrenaline or I would not have been able to talk for that long. it was about and 8 hour drive and 7 hours of it was talking. lol. the drive from NY to ME was nice, we stopped in VT alot. VT is a beautiful place, we stopped and got rasberry chocolate fudge. yummm. that was good. well I'll stop boring you with my tales of Maine and go swimming (and moose hunting...as in watching...looking for them) now. My mother is telling me to go so I will. Thanks sooooooooooooooooooo much for your comments (Leumas and White Island) you have no idea how much that meant and how loved I felt. Its wonderful. Thanks again and I'll see you all in a few days.

Maine! Yay! Sounds like you've had fun...at some of the times, anyway. Lobster all day, yum...Actually, I've never tried lobster. I'm glad our prayers helped, and I'll be praying for your trip back as well. Don't worry, I'm sure that if anyone can talk for 15 hours straight, it's you. So, stuff at church lately: The bbq/pig roast on Sunday night, or whatever you want to call it. That was cool. There was lots of food, obviously. And after that there were slides and presentations of all the mission stuff we've done this year--I think there was stuff about Mexico, Nepal, Kenya, Uganda...? That sounds right. It was cool to see what the people did. The pig roast reminded me of a pig roast they had at the synagogue one time. Jk, synagogues are jewish and they don't eat pig. Was that even remotely funny? Argh, I have to get offline now, before I finished even recounting all the events. But I'll get back to tell the rest soon. Have a good time!

Ok, I'm here again, there's a lot more to say now. Monday: Shining Light! We went to the nursing home to read the Bible to the chronologically gifted people. I was there, so were Sarah S. and Meagan H. , Alex and Tiffany, and Amber and her mom. That was nice, we got to read to a lot of people, read a lot of Pslams...We finished earlier than expected though, so we sat on the benches outside and talked/prayed for eachother. That night home groups started up again--is your family still doing one, and if so how did you cover for not being there on Monday? We started hosting one at which Vernon is teaching, which was cool. Good turn out. Sarah and Julie came to babysit, I kinda helped but we didn't have many kids...pretty much we watched Veggie Tales and they were happy. Tuesday: Smith Mountain Lake! Very small turnout: Mike and Rebecca, Sarah and Meagan, me. We could all fit in Mike's car! Lol. It was really hot, probably why no one wanted to show up. It kinda hurt to stand on the sand, but the water was nice. Before we went into the water Mike drove around the rest of the lake area, he found some amphitheater place that he wanted to go to, with a stage and a movie projector screen, and he's like, "Dude! We should totally take the youth group here and do something!" Lol. He says that a lot. But still, it'd be cool, like if the drama team ever comes through or anything. Many possibilities. We did a Bible study on II Kings 5:1-19, about a guy named Naaman, and picked up a few things from that. It was a fun day, in the lake we kept trying to get Mike to swim to the dock but he wouldn't because he says he's not very good at swimming and doesn't like it that much. We had a good time, though. Wednesday: Evangelism class! Jessi and Rosemarie, Sarah and Meagan, Bridget, Mike, me and Henry, all the Solovskoys, since it was taught by Mr. Solovskoy. It's with a program called Way of the Master--you had probably heard about the class already, maybe knew some of what we were doing. But yeah, Way of the Master, and we got these books with lessons and activities, and saw a DVD to start the program. The main message was that people are going to hell, and we need to care about them, share with them before it's too late. it showed the guys ask people on the street their beliefs, witnessing to them and stuff--most of them had no idea about the truth and were totally lost. Sad. Just shows the urgency of the message. We need to reach out NOW! I gtg now, keep having an awesome time. Water carnival tomorrow, I'll post about that!

Ok, the water carnival was really cool too. We played a bunch of water games and all got totally soaking wet. There was one I thought you would be good at, where you had to keep talking about a certain subject and if you paused or couldn't think of anything to say you got sprayed with water. Lol. And we played sponge dodgeball with the big sponges, and the gauntlet, which is where there are two lines of people all with water weapons and one person runs through while everyone soaks them. We had musical cups, like musical chairs, but the cups were filled with water and whoever didn't get a cup each time was soaked by everyone else. The best thing we did was set up two huge tarps on the slope going down to the gravel parking lot, and put soap and water on them to make a huge slide. That was really cool, I have pics of it you'll have to see when they come out. Well that's about all we did while you were away--the things I've listed here and under your last post. Glad to have you back now. See you in church tomorrow!
